Cold Woods Homestead

Our family of four found our way to the homestead through a culmination of many events, some might say via a strange path.  For many years we had looked for a place where we could get back to nature and life more simply after too much stress, far too many people, and the constantly seeming busy state of the modern world.  We had never found "the spot" but had settled in to a small parcel of about 5.5 acres in south-central Pennsylvania (PA), about 35-45 minutes from where CWH-Mama and Papa grew up.  Out of the blue a job offer came, and looking as we were being led to "short-term pain for long-term gain" had been set we uprooted the entire family and moved to Illinois for a period of a couple of years, knowing it would not likely be our life-long home.  After some time in Illinois in a nice suburb or Chicago, we tired of big city life, and didn't like how it was impacting the lives and mindset of our two your boys, so we decided we would once again deepen and more aggressively look for the place.  This is really where our journey in picking-up and ending here in at our little piece of heaven began.

We look forward to sharing more of this story in more detail, a bit of our daily lives as we continue to build our life and better our situation at the CWH, and truly settle into a new lifestyle.  It's a journey that's still in the making and we look forward to sharing the challenges, excitement, joy, struggle, and look into life.
